Weekly Mindful Meditation

2023 Monday 9-10am

MINDFUL MEDITATION. Monday 9-10am

What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.

While mindfulness is something we all naturally possess, it’s more readily available to us when we practice on a daily basis.

What is meditation?
Meditation is exploring. It’s not a fixed destination. Your head doesn’t become vacuumed free of thought, utterly undistracted. It’s a special place where each and every moment is momentous.

Mindfulness is a type of meditation in which you focus on being intensely aware of what you're sensing and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgment. Practicing mindfulness involves breathing methods, guided imagery, and other practices to relax the body and mind and help reduce stress.

Meditation does not require a cushion or special equipment and can be practiced almost anywhere.
Join us on a Monday morning or Wednesday evening (or both) for an hour of guided meditation and discussion- BEGINNERS WELCOME!

Chairs, cushions and mats are available on a limited basis; we encourage those who have their own cushion to bring it along.

Tea and water will be available during and after the practice.

This is a drop in event but an RSVP would be greatly appreciated.  Drop me a line and let me know you will be there. Jennifer at director@lubecoutreach.org
