Working Together for Each Other

Volunteer

LCOC is deeply grateful for all the support we receive from our volunteers. Our volunteers are essential to building our community. Our team of volunteers spans every age group and crosses every cultural and socioeconomic barrier creating meaningful linkages that support our mission.

Volunteers may have a skill or activity they would like to share with the children in the our youth programs. Talents are not needed—only a desire to interact with the kids. Youth volunteers have chosen to do a one-time activity, to do a series, or join in on a regular basis for a period of time—it is your choice. Some examples are arts and crafts, singing, music, dance, games, drama, reading to the children, joining on a hike or picnic, nature walks, and anything kids may like to do! The After School Program is each afternoon to 5:00 PM on school days, and the Summer Recreation Program operates for eight weeks beginning at the end of June.

The Lubec Community Food Pantry and the Hornet's Hearth operate with the help of volunteers. You can find our pantry volunteer manual by following the link below.

Be a Mentor: LCOC is continually looking for volunteer mentors with skills in gardening, nutrition and cooking healthy foods, carpentry.
