Youth After School

The After School Program provides childcare and enriching activities on school days from the time school ends until 5:00 pm. Usual enrollment includes approximately 32% of the school population. The program has a sliding fee which allows eligibility to about 85% of families in the Lubec school system.

Activities during the program include arts and crafts, tutoring, activities in the new school garden, and physical activities in the school playground. We also offer swimming lessons in the UMaine-Machias pool, nutritional education with Healthy Acadia, visits to the Lubec Library, and hiking adventures with Maine Coast Heritage Trust. Community members also provide services such as art and music classes, storybook readers, and so much more.

Visits to local businesses and organizations such as the Historical Society help provide a connection with the community and create a sense of pride in our hometown.

After School Program HOURS: Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri 2:30-5 and Wed 1-5
